From Beach to Street
Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner which means it’s time to start planning your beach getaway. But if your life is anything like mine, sometimes trips pop up at the last minute and it’s not always possible to plan in advance. In situations like that, it’s great to have really versatile pieces in your wardrobe that you can just throw in your tote bag and mix and match different ways for different weekend activities.

This straw tote is also the perfect accessory for a last minute getaway. It easily doubles as both a carry-on (personal item) and a great way to store your beach essentials like sunscreen, snacks and a good book. And for only $29?? WIN WIN!
The nautical inspired stripes and flowy vibe of this maxi dress makes it the perfect beach look. Wear it over a swimsuit as a makeshift (and totally glamorous) cover-up or on it’s own for a Grecian inspired look.
…to the Street
My adding a leather jacket with zipper details and a pair of over the knee boots, I took this dress from the beach straight to the bar. Looking at the outfit now, no one would ever know that just a few hours ago you knee deep in sand and sunscreen.
Even in the warmer spring months, the temperatures tend to drop a bit at night, so the leather jacket is a great layering piece for warmth. But if you don’t need it, don’t be afraid to go without and bare a little shoulder!
I have to admit, this is one of my favorite looks on the blog in a while. It’s so me. I like to describe my personal style as feminine but edgy. I love to pair flowy, often dressier pieces with casual, edgy materials. This looks hits that nail square on the head.
Yet one more time Marshalls got it right and had me covered from beachside to the sidewalk.
