Canadian with a Twist

Denim on denim—sometimes referred to as the “Canadian Tuxedo.” It’s one look that when executed right is one of my favorites. Despite being a huge fan, I’d never given it a try. Well, I recently purchased this acid wash button-up from one of my favorite Poshmark closets and thought it would be the perfect piece to incorporate into my own Canadian Tuxedo.
I’m currently in the process of completely revamping my wardrobe (and my style) and so I feel like a lot of essential pieces are missing right now. (You should see my closet, it’s empty). So when I paired my top with my favorite denim jeans, I was initially bored to tears. It just didn’t make much of a “Wow!” statement. Just very “blah.” And I felt like I was missing what I needed to make it more “me.” So I reached for my favorite thing—the color black. One black blazer, a black hat, a black coat later and I was much happier with the direction things were headed. All it needed now was a matching bootie/lippie combo. It’s not the Canadian Tuxedo in the traditional sense, but instead my twist on the popular trend.
Not bad for a wardrobe in transition!
