Well Worth the Wait

This moment has been a LONG time coming. I’ve had such grand plans for the dress, but it took some time (and a LOT of work) to execute. I’m sure by now you guys have seen this Altuzarra for Target dress all over the blogosphere and it has been sitting in my closet with the tags still attached for months. I was so excited when this collection launched! I bought several pieces but I was by FAR most excited about this dress. I was literally the first person through the door at my local Target the morning the collection dropped. I skipped (no, really, I skipped) through the doors and headed straight for this dress!
Unfortunately, when I tried the dress on, the moment fell at little…flat. I didn’t hate the dress, but it didn’t make my heart sing the way it had when I saw it online on the model. (Proof positive I’m nobody’s model.) But I wasn’t going to let it rain on my parade! I knew with a little work this could—and would—be the dress I had dreamed of.
It took me a few months, but I finally got it over to my favorite tailor. I had her tighten the sleeves, cinch the waist, deepen the neckline and—my favorite part—lengthen the slit. I wanted Angelina Jolie drama and I was gonna get it. Come hell or high water! And she gave it to me!
I love this dress so much. It just makes me feel so feminine and elegant. I see many, many outings to come for this dress. In fact, invite me to all of your upcoming events so I have a ton of places to wear it to. Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, cotillions, Super Sweet 16 parties, you name it! Invite me! Lol.
