St. John Knits
If you’ve been reading my blog over the past 2 years, it’s no secret to you how much I love Chicago. Which is why when St. John Knits reached out and asked me share my favorite go to places in Chicago, I was more than happy to oblige.
When it comes to style, Chicago is giving New York City a run for its money. With brands like St. John Knits making their home on Chicago’s famous Oak St., it’s only a matter of time before there’s a Chicagoan on every best dressed list.
Not only does Chicago have some of the country’s most fashionable residents, but it also has one of the best social scenes. There’s always a ton of exciting things to see and do. Our summers are short here, but if you spend your time wisely, you can check quite a few things off your bucket list.
One of my favorite places to visit in the city is the Art Institute of Chicago. The museum itself is its own work of art, but they also have the best collection of art that spans all eras.
As you walk around the outer property of the Art Institute, you’ll come across their outdoor garden area. If you get there early enough—before the city really comes alive—you’ll find people there reading, mediating or quietly spending time with friends and loved ones. You wouldn’t expect to find such a serene spot in the heart of downtown Chicago, but that’s one of the things that makes this city so beautiful. There’s always more than meets the eye.
The Art Institute hosts a ton of events throughout the year and its a popular wedding and banquet venue. These jacquard pants and matching jacket from St. John is perfect attire for such an event. It’s formal enough to meet the dress code standards, but unique enough to stand out in the crowd.

After a day of viewing art, you’re probably going to work up quite an appetite. One of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner is Au Cheval. I would put an Au Cheval burger up against any burger in the city…and it seems I’m not the only one because getting a seat is easier said than done. But when you look this good, who needs to sit? You’re going to want people to see you!

This sequin bomber jacket—both casual and glam—is perfect for both a day of sightseeing (you may want to switch into a pair of comfortable flats) and a casual date night. It’s equal parts comfortable and chic.
Now that you’ve refueled on some of the best food Chicago has to offer, there’s no better way to burn it all off than with some shopping on Oak St.
If you’re looking for top of the line designer pieces, Oak St. has what you’re looking for and, of course, the St. John boutique is there among the elite.
Whether you live in Chicago, NYC, or the small town you grew up in, a few pieces from St. John Knits are great way to add a little style to your city and your wardrobe. You can shop the my pieces here on the blog or head over to the SJK website to pick out a few of your own.
