Ever put together an outfit that makes you feel so fly that you don’t recognize yourself? That’s what happened to me when I got dressed this morning. I’m not quite sure where the inspiration for this outfit came from, but I just kinda started piling on the layers. I just received a few pieces in the mail from Chicwish—the black jacket and bag—and I knew I wanted to wear them (especially the bag. Look at it!) so I set my focus on those two pieces. The rest just kind of happened.

The New Yorker in me is always in the mood for an all black palette so I thought, why not grab all my favorite pieces in black. One pair of jeans, a bustier, a beanie and pair of  black pumps later, I had a look I sorta kinda liked. For a little visual interest, I layered a white faux leather vest (purchased on sale for $10!) and finished off this monochromatic look with my favorite black lipstick. All of a sudden I was feeling like, “Oooh! Kill ’em!” Lol.

It’s not my usual look, but I’ve always admired the uber layered look on other girls, so it was bit like stepping into the shoes of all my favorite fashionistas. Not too shabby for my first try. What do you think?

What  I’m Wearing:

Jacket: c/o Chicwish | Vest: Forever 21 | Pants: c/o GJG Denim | Shoes: c/o  Shoedazzle | Bag: c/o Chicwish | Lips: NYX ‘Penelope’
