Mad About Plaid

Spring has sprung! So bring on the crop tops, skater skirts and super cute sandals! That’s exactly what I’ve done with this outfit.
This color palette and print is not one that I don’t normally opt for. Which the exception of the gingham pants I just bought recently, I don’t think I own anything plaid. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) But I saw this top on Bib and Tuck as part of a 2 piece set and I decided to give it a try. While I’m planning to wear both pieces together at some point, the pants need some tailoring so I decided to split them up. I love this top. This fit is so fun and flirty. I really love that it has a built in bra. Being a proud member of the IBTC means I can often get away with not wearing a bra (and I often do), but I love that I can still get the loose fit without fear of a wardrobe malfunction.
The skirt is one I’ve had for a while (and is actually listed for sale in my online closet). I love it, but I have to admit that I don’t wear it often. I’ve had it for 2 years and I think this is only my second time wearing it. So I figure it’s time to make room in my closet for other great pieces.
The shoes are a new addition from Shoedazzle. I’ve been on the hunt for a great pair of nude sandals, but being brown skin means nude never really looks nude. These sandals hit pretty close to the mark without being a shade of brown that no shoe should ever be. I’d tell you that they’re comfortable (and they are!), but my high arches mean most heels are comfortable to me—whereas flats are excruciatingly painful. So I’ll let you be the judge. But another thing that I love is that the fit my small ankles. There’s nothing worse than a big, gapping space surrounding your ankle and an otherwise really cute pair of shoes. It’s heartbreaking. So ladies with tiny ankles, grab these up before it’s too late!
