DISCLOSURE: This post was sponsored by UNIQLO. I was compensated to attend Lollapalooza and write a post about the experience, however, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting BlakeVonD.com sponsors as they help make my blog possible!
As you guys know, I’ve decided to make Chicago my home for a while. It wasn’t the plan initially, but when life throws you a curve ball…you hit it out of the park! So, LET’S PLAY BALL, CHICAGO!
But I’m not the only newcomer to Chicago. UNIQLO is opening a store here in the fall and are teaming up with local Chicago bloggers to get the word out. I’d never been to Lollapalooza before so when they reached out and asked if I’d be willing to go, of course, I was down!
UNIQLO is great for shopping for the basics…which is exactly what I did. In preparation for Lollapalooza, I stocked up on all the staple pieces that were missing (or needed to be replaced) from my wardrobe with the plan to incorporate them into my festival attire in a fun, but relaxed way.
It was a million degrees in Chicago this past weekend, so for day 1 of the festival I opted for UNIQLO’s basic grey t-shirt with a pair of shredded denim boyfriend jeans. A cool look in loose fit in breathable fabrics was priority! Even in its simple concept, it’s crazy how much of a hit this outfit was. I had excited festival goers stopping me left and right to tell me how “cool” I looked. (It was even featured by my friends over at Refinery29). Proof positive that the basics don’t have to be…basic.
Stay tuned for all of the fun and fashion from days 2 and 3! In the meantime, shop the look the look from day 1.
