Lofty Dreams

I recently made a visit to South Loop Loft, a vintage decor shop here in Chicago. My friend and photographer, Ali, told me about and after stalking looking at their Instagram page, I knew I had to go see it in person. These days, I’m so in love with home decor so it was the perfect field trip for me. During the week, visits are by appointment only, but the owner, Beth, was really sweet and was able to work in a next day appointment for me.
The moment I walked in, it was like love at first sight. Everything there is BEAUTIFUL. She has some of the most amazing finds from all over the world. (If you go, do NOT buy my blue suede sofa. I’m waiting on my numbers to come up in the lotto.)
Beth was totally cool with me moving things and rearranging the items in her store to create the perfect backdrop for the shoot I was envisioning in my head. I have to admit, I love the way it all turned out.
As for this gorgeous dress from Forever Unique, you may remember it from my Snapchat reveal from last week. As I mentioned there, I was concerned that it would be too big, but it actually fits really well. Yay for my tailoring budget! Another added surprise with this maxi was the optional waist sash that came with it in addition to the gold belt. So instead of opting for an “either/or” styling when it came to the belt or sash, I just turned the sash into a turban. It’s been a while since I’ve featured a turban looked (it used to be my go-to), so I decided to get a little throw back Thursday action going. This dress will definitely be in heavy rotation.
