… Like an 808

I love when Target collaborates with popular designers to bring us pieces from our favorite designers at prices that we all can afford. But every time they do—Missoni, Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen, you name it—it’s always a fight to the finish actually getting your hands on that piece you’ve been coveting ever since they released the lookbook for the collabo months ago. This time around was no exception.
I hopped on my computer at around 4am on the day the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection went on sale, added this “Boom” sweater and matching sweatpants (I ended up returning them) to my cart, grabbed my credit card, proceeded to checkout and…ERROR…”Something in your cart is no longer available”. Sweater…GONE. EXCUSE ME?! That sweater was mine dammit! I was furious! I contemplated buying it in a size small (instead of the XS like I had planned to), but I knew that it wouldn’t fit well and what’s the point in having it if it’s going to fit like a paper sack? But something told me, “Just try adding the XS again.” So I did. And as fate would have it, one was available! I guess someone put theirs back or maybe the fashion gods just took pity on my poor soul. Either way, I’m glad I was able to get my hands on it.
I styled it with my favorite suede sandals and a pair of distressed jeans. Tossed on my favorited quilted bag and BOOM! Done! I opted not to incorporate too many accessories because the outfit was already pretty visually stimulating. I’ve gotta say I’m pretty happy with the results and it was a big hit over on Instagram.
What I’m Wearing:
Sweater: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target | Pants: Nekia Marie Boutique | Shoes: Breckelle’s Roma 21 (sold out) | Bag: ASOS
