Kute in Kennedy
It’s not always easy to find boots that are stylish and comfortable. You usually have to choose one or the other—and I’m not ashamed to admit I will choose style every time and just suffer the consequences later. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that these brown Kennedy booties from Vionic actually hit the mark on both criteria.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if these booties were really “me,” but once I tried them on, I fell in love. They were super comfortable and complement my downtown style. I styled them with a natural, muted color palette of denim jeans and green/olive layers. I think the combination of the greens and my skin really marry well together for an effortless fall look. I layered with an olive green turtleneck (it’s cropped) and a sleeveless vest in a similar color pattern. To keep the outfit from being a total snoozefest, I brightened it up with my hunter green leather jacket.
I didn’t realize until I saw these that I didn’t actually own a pair of brown booties. The New Yorker in me always gravitates toward black so I’d never gotten around to adding a brown pair to my collection. And let’s be honest, if they aren’t done just right, brown boots can be a bit of a bore. What I love about these is the touch of ombre on the toe and heel. It’s the perfect way to give them a worn in look while adding a modern feel. I also like that this particular shade of brown acts like a nude against my skintone. Shoes that mimic your skintone are a great way to look long and lean and with all of the bulky clothes we wear in the fall and winter—especially here in Chicago—it’s nice not to feel and look like the Michelin man.
This is another one of those looks that just kind of came together and I ended up really liking it. It’s a great “off duty” blogger look and I plan to get a lot of wear out of it.
