Gone Rogue, Eh?

I really always enjoy seeing all the different places my readers live. It still hasn’t quite hit me after all these years that people so far and wide are interested in the things I post. It’s really awesome and yet very surreal at the same time. So when Canadian designer and blogger, Emilie of Emilie Etc. emailed me to tell me about her new t-shirt collection I had to do a double take. “Canada?!” I know Canada isn’t the other side of the world from me, but I’m still shocked to see that my “Cousins to the North” were paying attention this little thing I call a blog.
Ems (that’s what I call Emilie in my head. She doesn’t know. lol) asked me pick a shirt from her collection and I picked this ‘Rogue’ design. I loved the play on the popular Vogue logo. Shortly after I received it in the mail, I saw on her blog that she had cut one into a crop top for herself and thought, “How cute! I want one!” It has been a while since I’ve done any DIY work, so I thought I might have been a little rusty (not to mention that I didn’t have a real pair of scissors with me here in Paris…makeup kick to the rescue!), but it turned out great!
I feel like this t-shirt is perfect for Paris. Fashion is such a big thing here (these folks have STYLE!), but in true Blake fashion, I’m always looking for a way to push back against traditional standards and expectations. What better way to say, “I’ll do what I want!” than with a Vogue inspired t-shirt that paints you as “a person whose behaviour one disapproves of but who is nonetheless likeable or attractive.” Who doesn’t want to be the perfect blend of good girl meets wild child? *sly smirk*
