I talked about how Chicago completely skipped fall in my last post. (Yes, I’m still very annoyed by it.) But I’m going to get some wear out of my the fall pieces in my closet come hell or pneumonia!
I mean, I might actually end up with pneumonia—it was 30º the day I shot this—but it was totally worth it to be able to share one of my favorite looks in the quite a while. (I feel like I say that a lot. But maybe that just means my style is continuing to evolve?)

It’s just a simple all black look, but there are so many things I love about it. First, these earrings from BaubleBar are just so freakin’ chic. I’ve had them sitting in my jewelry box for months now and decided it was finally time to take them out for a spin.
I would normally opt for a pair of black earrings or my tried and true diamond studs for an outfit like this, but for some reason I was really loving the pop of color with the blue flamenco style baubles.
You probably couldn’t tell from the other photos, but this is actually two separate pieces! The skirt is from the Bar III collaboration I did a few years ago and the top I purchased recently at AKIRA. It’s kind of crazy how they’re both made of the exact same material and look like they were designed to go together.
The fashion gods are always on their job.
These Charlotte Olympia platform heels are so gorgeous! I don’t get to wear them nearly as much as I’d like, but I’ve made a promise to myself that I’m going to change that. Maybe I’ll try them with a chic pair of tights?
Top it all off with this faux fur (you can breathe now) jacket I purchased last year from H&M and the look instantly goes from “cute” to “Ok, girl! I see you!” Don’t you think? I wish I had more places to go to dressed like this, but until I do…
Excuse me while I run inside to warm up.
