‘Do You Model?’ …Nope!
Lately people have taken a liking to asking me if I model. My answer to that question is always, “No!”. I don’t feel comfortable classifying myself that way because 1) I’m 5’2″ and not tall enough to be anybody’s model and 2) I feel like the term “model” as become synonymous with “I have (or at least think I have) a phat a** and like to take pictures half naked, especially in the bathroom on my camera phone!” *side eye* Chile…SAT DOWN!
I’ve been told that I should take it as a compliment, because it means that people think I’m pretty. I mean, I guess. But modeling is so much more than a pretty face and it damn sure takes more than ample “assets”. So outta respect for the Iman’s, Tyra Banks’, Grace Jones’, Naomi Campbell’s and Beverly Johnson’s of the world…no, I am not a model.

My focus was more on styling the shoot than it was on modeling for the shoot. I have to give myself a pat on the back for my first (solo) job. But how hard is it to capture your own style aesthetic, right? LOL. Anywho…these pictures were just a friend helping a friend work on his portfolio & a chance for me to show off some of the pieces in my closet. :)
No retouching, no nothing…just me pretending that I know what I’m doing. lol
