Boutique Closet Reveal
Big bought Carrie the closet of her dreams. Inspired Closets Chicago built mine!
The original closet in my primary bedroom left a lot to be desired and I knew I would need a bigger space that allowed for optimal organization. As a content creator, fashion is a big part of my job and over the years I’ve been able to create a growing collection of items I love and want to get more wear out of. But even with me constantly purging and donating, there were still so many items in boxes or storage that I never got to wear.
So I made a plan to turn the smaller bedroom next my bedroom into the custom boutique closet of my dreams and I reached out to Inspired Closets Chicago to make that dream a reality.
But first…construction.
Before
We started by taking down the half wall (don’t worry, it wasn’t load bearing) that created my original walk-in closet and cut out an opening for doors into the next room.
That took about a week of construction and we ended up with a clean slate for the closet installation.
I scored these doors on Facebook Marketplace for $40!
While the construction was going on, I took a trip out to Inspired Closet’s Oakbrook showroom to look at all of the design options available as well as see a 3D rendering of what my space would look like all come to life. Mike, the owner of Inspired Closets, put together an amazing design that blew my mind. It was everything I wanted complete with ample storage and all the bells and whistles. Lights, pull-out mirrors, glass shelving, you name it.
Once the design process was complete, it was time for installation. We planned a 3-day installation that ended up only taking 1 day. Talk about customer service! The team was fast, professional and even cleaned up when they were done. In the almost 2 years that I’ve been a homeowner, I’ve had quite a few contractors in and out of here and they were by far some of the best. I was thoroughly impressed.

But you know we couldn’t leave it there. I had to take custom and make it… Blake!
I installed wallpaper, a new light fixture, painted the ceiling and outfitted it with all the organization hacks I could get my hands on. Let’s walk through it.
Honestly, the full view of the room makes me smile. This may come as shock given this reveal, but I’m not the biggest fan of the color pink. It’s also saved me so much time each day getting ready.
One thing I’ve been wanting to improve in my life is my daily routine. Namely, I’d like to have one. I know exactly where everything is, prepping for shoots is a breeze and overall I just feel much more productive in my day to day life.
