Checkered Past

I like to think that my personal style is pretty well-defined. I love pieces that are girly but edgy. But just like anything else, with time I can feel that changing. I wear heels far less often than I used to and I find myself gravitating towards pieces I would have normally stayed far away from. For example, I don’t normally go for oversized clothing, because I feel like my frame gets lost in them. But when I came across this checkered duster from Nasty Gal, I was SOLD! I couldn’t add it to my cart quick enough! And when it arrived, I fell even more in love with it. (I wasn’t, however, in love with the packaged smell. BLEH! But little Febreze and a few days of airing out did the trick.)
I have to admit, I feel pretty awesome in this duster. Like a real live blogger. Lol. Most days I don’t actually feel like my wardrobe lives up to the label. I just kinda grab something semi-cute, add a quirky accessory that doesn’t quite “go” and run out the door in time to make it to my 10 o’clock class. So it’s always nice when I can kinda look at myself and go “YOU DID THAT! #Tamarvoice” You do it too. Don’t lie! Lol.
